All four weekend NASCAR Touring WinnersLAKEVILLE, IN -- For the first time all season, all four major NASCAR Touring Series' that Hoosier exclusively provides tires for were in action over the weekend. Todd Szegedy captured his first career NASCAR Featherlite Modified Series victory at Richmond International Raceway on Friday, while Steve Carlson won his third straight NASCAR RE/MAX Challenge race at Lake Geneva Raceway on Saturday. In NASCAR All Pro Series action, Billy Bigley, Jr. collected his first series win of the season at Virginia's Lonesome Pine Raceway and Eric Norris won the NASCAR Winston West Series event at Evergreen Speedway in Monroe Washington. For Norris, it was his third win in five events in the series.

  

NASCAR FEATHERLITE MODIFIED SERIES

A happy Todd Szegedy after his 1st NFMS win (photo courtesy of Howie Hodge)RICHMOND, VA (June 28) -- Todd Szegedy, making only his 11th NASCAR Featherlite Modified Series start, captured his first career victory at the 3/4-mile Richmond International Speedway on Friday after starting 15th. Forty-two cars started the 150-lap Richmond Times Dispatch 150 which had nine lead changes among six drivers. Szegedy led the final 55 laps en route to the historic win for the Ridgefield, CT driver. With the win, Szegedy pocketed $11,050 in prizes and awards. Mike Stefanik, Nevin George, Jerry Marquis and Chuck Hossfeld rounded out the list of top five finishers. Fourteen of the 42 starters finished the race on the lead lap. Mike Stefanik is currently the series points leader with 1050 markers followed by Jerry Marquis with 1040 points and Todd Szegedy with 990 points. The next event for the NASCAR Featherlite Modified Series is the rescheduled Connecticut Classic on July 3rd at Stafford Motor Speedway.    

   

NASCAR RE/MAX CHALLENGE SERIES

Steve Carlson holding up 3 fingers as he won his third race in a row in the NASCAR RE/MAX Series (Photo courtesy of Steve Benesh)LAKE GENEVA, WI (June 29) -- Steve Carlson won his third NASCAR RE/MAX race in a row after taking the Al Schill, Jr Memorial 150 on Saturday at Lake Geneva Raceway. The race is run annually to honor Al Schill, Jr., a promising young racer who lost his life in 1999. Steve Carlson, the defending series champion, led the final 50 laps of the 150-lap event en route to the win. Carlson earned $5,450 for his top finish on the .33-mile oval. Finishing in second place was Al Schill, Sr., while Brian Hoppe, Ron Breese, Jr. and Jerry Lepak rounded out the top five as 10 of the 24 race starters finished the race on the lead lap. Steve Carlson continues to lead the NASCAR RE/MAX Challenge Series with 1021 points followed by Brian Hoppe with 964 points and Eddie Hoffman with 908 points. The series next travels to Dells Motor Speedway on July 13th for the Welcome Back 200.

   

NASCAR ALL PRO SERIES

(Photo courtesy of David Allio)COEBURN, VA (June 29) -- Billy Bigley, Jr. was back in the NASCAR All Pro Series winner's circle Saturday after capturing the Kinzer Drilling 200 at Lonesome Pine International Raceway. The win was Bigley's first since the 2000 season when he captured the series title. Bigley collected $8,975 for the win. Finishing in second place was David Reutimann followed by Charlie Bradberry, Jeff Fultz and Benny Gordon in third through fifth, respectively. Charlie Bradberry is currently in first place in the NASCAR All Pro Challenge Series with 961 points followed by Jeff Fultz (914) and Billy Bigley, Jr. (886). The series resumes action on July13th at Myrtle Beach Speedway in South Carolina.

   

NASCAR WINSTON WEST SERIES

Eric NorrisMONROE, WA (June 29) -- Eric Norris captured his third win of the season in NASCAR Winston West Series competition on Saturday at Evergreen Speedway. Norris won the Coors Light 200 and collected a hefty $14,235 payout. Johnny Borneman, Mike Duncan, Ed Watson and Mike David rounded out the top five. Ten drivers finished the 200-lap event on the lead lap on the .646-mile oval. The race featured six lead changes among five different drivers. The top finish by Norris also increased his lead in the NASCAR Winston West Series standings. He leads with 834 markers and is followed by Austin Cameron with 782 points and Kevin Richards with 761 points. The next race for the Winston West Series is July 27th at Irwindale Speedway in California.
