LAKEVILLE,
IN -- Mike Stefanik (right) captured his first NASCAR Featherlite
Modified Series win of the season winning the New England Dodge
Dealers 150, on Thursday evening at Connecticut's Thompson
International Speedway, while David Gilliland and Jeff Fultz each
increased their series leading win totals over the weekend. Gilliland
won his third race of the season and remains the only repeat winner
this year in the NASCAR Featherlite Southwest Series. Gilliland
captured the United Power/Touchstone Energy150, on Saturday at
Colorado National Speedway. Even so, he still finds himself in fifth
place in the series standings led by Auggie Vidovich, Jr. But there is
still time with five races remaining on the series' 14-race schedule.
In a similar situation, Jeff Fultz won his fourth race of the season
in the NASCAR Kodak Southeast Series remaining the only repeat winner
in the series. On Saturday, Fultz won the twice rain postponed Time
Warner 150, at Myrtle Beach Speedway coming from three laps down early
on before making up the entire deficit to post his fourth win of the
season. Despite the four victories, Fultz finds himself in second
place in the series standings--just 52 points behind Charlie Bradberry
as the series enters its final two races of the season.
