STOCKTON, CA (August 17) -- Johnny Borneman led all 202 laps of the
Stockton Speedway Dodge Country NAPA Auto Parts 200 by JaniKing and
ProLong. Borneman started on the outside pole and immediately jumped
into the lead which he never relinquished throughout the race. The
wire-to-wire win was the first in the series since 1997. The victory
was Borneman's first of the season and second of the 25-year-old's
career. The victory was worth $12,585. Following Borneman to
the finish line was Mike Duncan who collected $5,395 for the runner-up
finish. Rounding out the top three was Mike David. David pocketed
$4,883. Nine of the 18 race starters finished the event on the lead
lap. Completing the list of lead-lap finishers were: Eric Norris
(4th); Kevin Richards (5th); Gene Woods (6th); Greg Pursley (7th);
Brett Thompson (8th); and Brandon Ash (9th). Eric Norris increased
his points lead over Austin Cameron who finished a disappointing 12th.
Norris leads the NASCAR Winston West Series standings with 1169
points. Cameron is in second with 1094 points. Kevin Richards, just
three points from the runner-up position, commands third place with
1091 points. Mike Duncan (1045) and Mike David (1024) are fourth and
fifth, respectively. The NASCAR Winston West Series will be back in
