The defending NASCAR Featherlite Modified Series champion took the lead on lap 81 of the 150-lap event. The race was originally scheduled for August 11th, but rain forced it to be postponed. Ironically, Szegedy won last year's race at Stafford after the event had to be rescheduled due to rain. In memory of Tom Baldwin, who was laid to rest earlier in the day, the seventh starting spot was vacant during the pace lap. The 57-year-old driver of the number seven car, who's last win came at Stafford in 1996, died last Thursday competing in the series race at Thompson International Speedway. Baldwin had competed in the NASCAR Featherlite Modified Series since its inception in 1985 and was voted the series Most Popular Driver last year.

Forty-six cars attempted to make the field for the Dodge Dealers 150, with 31 drivers gaining entry. Donny Lia won the Bud Pole Award as the fastest qualifier and started seventh after the invert.

The race began with pole sitter Nevin George taking the lead at the drop of the green flag. George led 79 of the race's first 80 laps with outside pole sitter John Blewett, III interrupting his string on lap 55 for a single circuit. On lap 81, third starting Todd Szegedy moved into the lead for good leading the final 70 laps en route to the win. Szegedy earned $6,800 for his second win of the season. The defending series champion becomes just the fourth repeat winner this season joining Jerry Marquis, Tony Hirschman and Teddy Christopher with two wins apiece in the 13 races contested to date.

Following Szegedy to the line was series points leader Tony Hirschman in second place. Eric Beers finished in third place after starting tenth. Mike Stefanik and Jamie Tomaino rounded out the top five.
