NASCAR REPORT:
REUTIMANN, STEFANIK & CARLSON
ALL WINNERS IN WEEKEND NASCAR ACTION

LAKEVILLE,
IN -- Three of the four NASCAR Touring divisions Hoosier exclusively
provides tires for were in action over the weekend. In the
NASCAR All Pro Series David Reutimann became the series' first three
event winner of 2002 after he won the Hills Bros. 150, at Southern
National Speedway in Kenly, NC. The win moved Reutimann into the
series point lead over Jeff Fultz by a mere five points with just one
race remaining on the series schedule. In the NASCAR Featherlite Modified Series,
defending series champion Mike Stefanik won the Carquest Fall Final at
Stafford Motor Speedway. It was his second win of the season and more
importantly moved the Coventry, RI driver into first place in the
season standings with just two races left on the schedule. Finally, in
the NASCAR RE/MAX Challenge Series, Steve Carlson won the Great Clips
300, at Minnesota's Elko Speedway. It was his fourth win of the season
and extended his point lead to 102 points over Brian Hoppe with two
events remaining on the 2002 schedule.

NASCAR ALL PRO SERIES
|
|
KENLY, NC (September 28) -- Twenty-three cars started
the Hill Bros. 150, at Southern National Speedway Saturday. David
Reutimann took the lead from Jarod Robie on lap 135, after the two
made contact sending Robie spinning. Reutimann led the remainder of
the race and took the checkered flag on lap 150.
Reutimann earned $8,375 for the win--his third of the
season. Finishing in second place was Steven Howard. Howard pocketed
$3,630 for his runner-up finish. Wayne Anderson took third and
collected $2,145.
Amazingly, 19 of the 23 race starters finished the
event on the lead lap.
With the win, Reutimann takes over the series points
lead over Jeff Fultz by just five points as the series heads into its
final event. (Fultz finished a disappointing 11th.)
The NASCAR All Pro Series Tour will complete its final
race of the season at Memphis Motorsports Park in Tennessee on October
19th.

NASCAR FEATHERLITE MODIFIED SERIES
|
|
STAFFORD SPRINGS, CT (September 29) -- Defending series champion Mike
Stefanik captured his second win of the season and regained the NASCAR
Featherlite Modified Series points lead by eight points over Jerry
Marquis with two events remaining on the 2002 schedule.
Thirty-two cars started the Carquest Fall Final at Stafford Motor
Speedway. When the checkered flag fell after 150 circuits, Mike
Stefanik emerged the winner after starting on the outside pole.
Stefanik collected $9,200 for the win.
Dave Berghman finished in second place followed by previous race
winner Chuck Hossfeld. Berghman earned $4,005 for the runner-up
finish. (Jerry Marquis finished the race in fourth.)
Fully half of the field finished the 150-lap race on the lead lap.
With just two events remaining, the NASCAR Featherlite Modified
Series will resume action October 19th, at Martinsville Speedway with
Mike Stefanik holding a slim eight point lead over Jerry Marquis.

NASCAR RE/MAX CHALLENGE SERIES
|
|
ELKO, MN (September 29) -- The NASCAR RE/MAX Challenge
Series Great Clips 300 was shortened due to rain Sunday--17 laps short
of the scheduled 300-lap distance with defending series champion Steve
Carlson in the lead. Carlson was awarded the win and collected $6,950.
Finishing in second place was 10th starting Ron
Breese, Jr. Taking the final podium spot was the pole-sitter, Jon
Lemke.
With the win, Steve Carlson extends his lead in the
season-long points battled to 102 markers over young Brian Hoppe.
With just two events remaining, the NASCAR RE/MAX
Challenge Series will next travel to Wisconsin's LaCrosse Fairgrounds
Speedway on October 6th for the Oktoberfest 250.
