LAS
VEGAS, NV (October 24-27) -- The 2nd annual ACDelco Las Vegas NHRA
Nationals were held this past weekend with Team-Hoosier's best two
classes, the alcohol classes, not in attendance. Team-Hoosier has
captured 22 of 30 national event wins in 2002 in the two alcohol
classes not competing in Las Vegas, so wins would be a bit more difficult
to come by. Still, three Hoosier-shod drivers made it all the way to
the final round in three different classes. Mitch Stott made it to the
finals in Pro Mod, while Grant Pederson was in the Super Comp finals
and John Peterson made it to the Super Gas finals.
PRO MOD
Mitch Stott came away with runner-up honors in the Pro Mod class
despite being quicker off the line in his '63 Corvette and posting a
faster speed (224.85 mph vs. 223.10 mph) on his pair of Hoosier
34.5/17.0-16 C2000 drag tires.
SUPER COMP
Grant Pederson won the Super Comp class with a 9.056 ET (.006 over on
a 9.05 index) when his opponent broke out.
SUPER GAS
John Peterson captured runner-up honors for Team-Hoosier after
breaking out in the final Super Gas contest.
Hoosier Racing Tire Corp. thanks all the competitors
in Las Vegas for using the Hoosier brand for their racing needs.
The NHRA Series has just one more event before the
curtain falls on another successful racing season. Team-Hoosier looks
to close the season strong by collecting several class wins at the
38th annual Auto Club of Southern California NHRA Finals on Nov. 7-10,
in Pomona, California.
