(Photo courtesy of www.competitionplus.com)INDIANAPOLIS, IN (September 5) -- Andy Fogle (far lane) almost packed up and went home from the 51st annual NHRA Mac Tools US Nationals following a disappointing qualifying performance in his '04 Chevy Cavalier. Frustrated after spinning his tires in qualifying, Fogle elected to switch to Hoosier's new drag radial after hearing the new tire touted among his peers in the pits. The decision proved to be a fortuitous one as Fogle battled his way through a 128-car field to capture the win in the Super Stock class at Indianapolis Raceway Park. The win was one of two during the weekend for the Hoosier brand including longtime Hoosier loyalist Frank Manzo capturing the Top Alcohol Funny Car win. The two wins brought Team Hoosier's National event win total to 42 for the season with five events left on the schedule.

Manzo claimed his third National event win of the year in T/A Funny Car using a pair of Hoosier's new 34.5/17.0-16 C2055 drag tires (Catalog #18790). For Manzo, it was his 59th overall National victory. Frank went on to capture his 4th win of the season, and 60th National event win of his career, at Reading, PA last weekend.

Fogle's victorious adventure in Super Stock came while using Hoosier's new 33.0/14.5R-15 C06 drag radial (Catalog #18361). Fogle faced Gary Richard in the finals who was also competing on Hoosier tires. Richard was using Hoosier's 32.0/13.5R-15 C06 radial (Catalog #18247). After extensive laboratory and track testing, this was the first event the new 33.0/14.5R-15 C06 radial drag tire was released for sale.

In other action, Josh Hernandez was the #1 qualifier in Pro Mod. He had low ET of the event with a 6.085 second run. Hernandez also posted low ET in every round except the finals using a set of Hoosier's new 34.5/17.0-16 C2055 drag tires.

The event was also attended by Hoosier drag racing product managers Faron Lubbers and Steve Hudspeth, while engineering support was provided by Gary Freymiller. John Adamo was in charge of trackside service out of the Hoosier tire trailer which is at all 23 NHRA events.
