LAKEVILLE,
IN (January 19) -- Work continues on the development of Hoosier's new
5-6" tire lines. To date, our focus has been on introducing a
successful line of quarter midget tires. Early results have been
exceptional in the quarter midget line with reports of success on
karts as well.
Neil Cowman, Hoosier's Quarter Midget Product Manager
commented, "I have been getting a number of e-mails asking about
Hoosier kart tires. Although we haven't done any on-track tire testing
for karting, we
continue to get reports of competitors using our 35.0/7.1-6 quarter
midget tire as their right side tire in dirt karting venues with
success."
Currently, Hoosier has developed three left side and two right side
sizes along with seven different compounds (four dirt and three
asphalt) for quarter midget racing (see chart below). The next
development will be in dirt karting where we plan on introducing a
wider right side tire (35.0/8.1-6) and a wider left side tire
(33.0/5.5-6). Once the dirt kart line has been developed we will commence
work on the asphalt line for karting.
The new Hoosier quarter midget tire line had eye-popping results
January 1st in Columbus (OH) with Hoosier tires claiming first place
in three divisions (JR Honda using a Hoosier D20 and Sr. Honda and
Lite Mod using a Hoosier D30), while claiming second and third place
in the Heavy A class using a Hoosier A50.

five successive championships in the World of Outlaws, but Hoosier is

quarter midget lines. If interested, forward your resume to Paul
