MECHANICSBURG,
PA (April 12) -- The combination of Cris Eash, new car owner Bob Weber
and Hoosier tires proved to be a formidable combination at Williams
Grove Speedway last Friday night. Eash not only won the weekly 410
sprint race, he extended Team-Hoosier's perfect record at "The
Grove" to 5-0. With both Lincoln and Port Royal Speedways
canceling their weekly programs due to rain, the victory increased
Team-Hoosier's overall record to 12-0 at the three Pennsylvania
tracks.
Heat race winners on Hoosiers were Greg Hodnett and Cris Eash.
Amazingly, Hodnett started his heat in eighth en route to capturing
the win. In the 25-lap feature, there were 24 starters--21 on
Hoosier tires. The race for Eash began quickly as he moved from his
sixth place starting spot to 2nd place in just one lap. Todd Gracey
looked to be en route to the win before lapped traffic allowed Eash to
take over the race lead on lap 21. Eash won followed by eight more
Hoosier-shod drivers. Eash was using a pair of Hoosier RD12 compound
sprint tires. Finishing in second through ninth were: Todd Shaffer,
Greg Hodnett, Sean Michael, Todd Gracey, Lance Dewease, Keith
Kauffman, Don Kreitz, Jr., and Fred Rahmer. The top nine sweep in the
feature by Hoosier-shod cars comes on the heels of the 3/29 race in
which Greg Hodnett won and where Hoosier cars finished 1-13. In
the 358 feature, Chad Layton won his third straight 358 feature.
Layton used a pair of Hoosier D12's in the 358's 20-lap feature. Special
thanks to Hoosier Tire Mid-Atlantic's Bob Wirts for providing the
details for this story. |
