LAKEVILLE, IN (October 15,
2007) -- On September 25, 2007, Specialty Tires of America also known
as American Racer brand tires filed a complaint in Federal Court
against Hoosier Racing Tire Corp. alleging that Hoosier has violated
the antitrust laws. Hoosier has worked hard to develop high quality,
consistent, reliable and fairly priced products and to compete
vigorously in a way that has helped to grow and enhance the sport of
racing, and we will continue to do so. Specialty Tire essentially is
complaining that Hoosier has been too successful in satisfying our
customer's needs. It is not appropriate for HRT to comment on matters
that are in litigation and it will not do so, except to say that HRT
disputes and will be vigorously defending the allegations that have
been made against it and looks forward to a resolution favorable to
Hoosier Tire and the promoters and sanctioning groups with which it
does business.
