COLUMBUS, OH (April 4-5, 2009) -- Round One of USAC's Generation Next Tour was held this weekend by the Buckeye Quarter Midget Club located on the grounds of Columbus Motor Speedway. It was the first race on the freshly paved track which provided for lots of great racing the entire weekend. As evidenced by the many smiles, the excitement on the track was enjoyed by all those in attendance.

More than 110 cars were on hand competing in 14 different classes during the two-day event.

When the final checkered flag waved Sunday afternoon, 14 young drivers were crowned as champions.

All drivers were competing on Hoosier quarter midget tires. Both the Jr. Honda and Lt. World Formula winners were actually on used tires from the inaugural Eastern District race held on March 20-22, at the Ambassador Racing School in Tampa, FL.

Hoosier Racing Tire Corp. would like to congratulate the class winners and thank everyone who attended and helped coordinate the race.

The next stop on the Generation Next Tour will be on May 16-17, at the Miami Valley Quarter Midget Racing Association in Xenia, OH.
