LAKEVILLE,
IN -- Bear Lake, Pennsylvania's Chub Frank captured an unprecedented 4th
consecutive Renegade DirtCar Racing Series championship after finishing fifth
in Sunday's 40th annual "Winchester 200" at Winchester (VA) Speedway.
Frank's fifth place finish coupled with Mike Balzano's sixth place finish
propelled the 41-year-old late model driver into the series' history books
while riding on USA-made Hoosier tires. The 20-year-old Renegade DirtCar Series
allows any one of three tire brands to be used during its sanctioned
competition with Hoosier being the dominate brand.
With two nights of racing left of the 2003 schedule, Frank has
won seven races this season while recording 16 top 5's, 21 top 10's. Even more
impressively, the defending series champion finished every event this season
while completing 1,616 of the 1,620 race laps amassed during the year starting
back in February during Florida Speedweeks.
On the heels of Frank's Hurculean accomplishment, Hoosier Late
Model Dirt Product Manager Shanon Rush commented on Frank's association with
Hoosier, "Chub has been an integral part of the Hoosier team
for many years. He has always challenged us to consider new ideas and then
volunteered to assist us in future development. He has even put product
improvement ahead of his own racing success at times. Chub is a true champion
and a great example of why Hoosier Tire is proud to be involved with the
Renegade DirtCar Racing Series."
Hoosier Racing Tire Corp. would like to congratulate Chub, his
wife Mary, and their entire Chub Frank racing team on the occasion of their 4th
consecutive Renegade DirtCar Racing Series championship.
