Standing
atop the podium today and hopefully getting ready for a repeat at the final
race of the season in Mexico City, early November, is the No. 01, CompUSA,
Lexus Riley team of Scott Pruett and Luis Diaz. They came in just ahead of the
No. 2, Citgo-Howard-Boss Motorsports, Pontiac Crawford driven by the team of
Milka Duno and Andy Wallace. Scott Pruett had this to say, "Hoosier gave
us a great tire, it was very constant. It was a team effort." Luis said
"The tires were running strong all day long. Thanks to Hoosier they give
us great tires every race." Luis also said that he was looking forward to
going to Mexico City. When asked how large he thought the Grand American Rolex
race would be there? Luis answered "It is going to be the biggest event in
the entire year in Mexico. There will be almost a half a million fans."
Andy Wallace also wanted to add his appreciation for the great job Hoosier
Racing Tire has done all season. He said I'm so impressed with Hoosier
Racing Tire. We have not had a single tire problem at all this season."
GT Class
In the GT class, the championship battle has heated up considerably. Going
into today's race, two-time GT champion Bill Auberlen was looking for another
GT win in the No. 21 BMW Financial Services BMW M3 he will share with Tom
Milner, and found it. Coming across the finish line with a first place GT
victory and an overall ninth place finish, running his best lap speed in lap
number 70, with a 1:57.861, 87.165 mph.
