BEACH, FL (July 1) --Wayne Nonnamaker captured his first career Rolex
Series Super Grand Sport (SGS) class win Thursday night driving the
#41 Orion-Planet Earth Motorsports Porsche GT3 Cup car in the Paul
Revere 250, at Daytona International Speedway leading all but two of
the 66 race laps. Nonnamaker, starting from the pole, finished in 18th
overall among the 36 teams competing in the three-class (DP, GT, SGS)
event. Finishing in second place (19th overall) was Marc Bunting and
Andy Lally driving the TPC Racing Porsche GT3 Cup #38--one lap behind
Nonnamaker. Bunting and Lally currently lead the SGS class driver
standings. John Littlechild and Spencer Pumpelly driving the #37 TPC
Racing Porsche GT3 Cup car finished in third place (20th overall). The
SGS class in the Rolex Series runs exclusively on Hoosier racing
tires. The Grand-Am Cup Series, under the Grand American Road Racing
Association direction, also competes exclusively on Hoosier tires.
