ROCKINGHAM,
NC (September 16-17, 2007) -- Jason Scruggs used a pair of Hoosier drag slicks
to make the first-ever 200-mph pass in American Drag Racing League (ADRL)
history. The Saltillo, MS driver was the No. 1 qualifier at the ADRL Eastern
Race Fuels DRAGSTOCK IV event at Rockingham Raceway. Scruggs also collected a
$10,000 bonus for the history-making run. Driving a Hoosier-shod '63 Corvette,
Scruggs posted an 1/8-mile time of 3.809 seconds at 200.86 mph.
You might remember, last year Steve Kirk also set a record at this same
event on a pair of Hoosier drag slicks. At the time, Kirk etched his name into
the ADRL record book by running the two quickest ET's and the top two speeds in
the history of the Outlaw 10.5 class. Kirk's record setting times in the
eighth-mile were 4.430 and 4.435 while eclipsing the 174 mph mark on both runs.
Kirks' top speed was 174.62 mph.
We invite you to visit the Hoosier service truck at any drag racing event or
you may contact your nearest Hoosier
distributor to get your own pair of Hoosier drag slicks.
