LAKEVILLE,
IN -- Hoosier Racing Tire Corp. is proud to announce an agreement with
Alan Kreitzer, promoter of Silver Spring Speedway, making Hoosier the
track's exclusive right-rear tire brand in its Super Sportsman class.
It also marks the first time in the long history of the Super
Sportsman sprint cars that they will ride exclusively on the Hoosier
brand. Hoosier's Open Wheel Dirt Product Manager Neil Cowman commented
on the agreement, "This is a huge deal for us (Hoosier) given the
history at Silver Spring Speedway. We have been working for years to
make this happen and finally all the pieces fell into place."
While racing began at the facility in the early 50's,
Hoosier has never reached "official tire" status at the
historic 3/8-mile track. That is, until now. The agreement will have
Hoosier providing a 105.0/18.0-15 right rear tire available in two
compounds (HTMA12 and HTMA15).
According to Kreitzer, the competitors will have three
races in which to use up last year's tires with Hoosier being the
exclusive tire used in the fourth event of the season. Tires for the
track will be supplied through Hoosier Tire Mid-Atlantic. The deal was
worked out between Hoosier Tire Mid-Atlantic's Bobby Wirts and Alan
Kreitzer after months of negotiations.
Silver Spring Speedway is located in Mechanicsburg,
Pennsylvannia and features affordable Saturday night racing. Regular
weekly programs feature three classes of racing--Super Sportsman, Late
Model and Street Stocks. The 2004 racing season at Silver Spring
Speedway begins March 20.
