TOPEKA,
KS (September 8-12) -- Over 1,100 Solo II competitors flocked to the
Topeka Air Industrial Park, also known as Forbes Field, for this
year's Solo II National Championships with over 800 of them opting to
run the Hoosier tire brand. After the first two days of competition,
Team-Hoosier claimed 24 class wins. In the final two days of action,
Hoosier tires were on 26 more National Champion cars, bringing the
grand total to 50 Solo II National Champions for Team-Hoosier in the
62 classes which they competed in. The
Hoosier-shod champion total was three more than the 2002 Solo II
National Championships and was a new record for the Indiana-based tire
manufacturer. The 50 class wins was also more than all other tire
manufacturers combined. Also among the 50 Hoosier-shod
National Champions were 17 repeat winners including six drivers who
have won their class title three consecutive years. Special thanks goes
out to Tom Reichel at Mid-Atlantic Motorsport and Phil Cleer of Hoosier Tire Midwest for providing outstanding sales and service throughout the entire
week of competition. Hoosier Racing Tire also wishes to thank all competitors who have chosen to use the most
successful and sought after race tires in the world.
