COMPOUND
APPLICATIONS:
|
|
|
|
The R50 is a soft, high traction compound designed for
high performance applications. It is designed for tracks that are less
abrasive and require a significant amount of grip.
The R60 is a medium-hard compound that balances
traction, durability and performance with versatility. The R60 is
designed for medium grip, high heat track conditions. The R60 will
have less grip than the R50.

SET-UP INFORMATION:
|
|
|
|
R50
The recommended starting pressure for the R50 is 9-11
psi cold. These pressures could be +/-1 psi depending on track
condition. This compound has been designed for sprint or solo
applications.
R60
The recommended starting pressure for the R60 is 11-13
psi cold. These pressures could be +/-1-2 psi depending on track
condition. The 22350 (7.1/11.0-5) rear is designed for sprint and road
race applications. The 22400 (7.1/11.0-5 "S") is designed
for road race applications. The "S" stands for stiff side
wall construction. This tire is designed for karts that need less grip
in the rear of the kart.

DIRECTION
OF ROTATION/ MOUNTING INSTRUCTIONS:
|
|
|
|
Every Hoosier race tire has a four character serial
code embossed into ONE sidewall of the tire (example: J7B9). The left
side tires must be mounted with the serial code side located toward
the outside of the kart. The right side tires should have the serial
code facing toward the centerline of the kart. Once the tire is on the
rim, we recommend placing the tire inside a mounting ring and
adjusting the ring to fit snug around the tire. We
highly advise using the mounting ring as we believe not using it can
over stretch the carcass leading to inconsistent sizing. Once the tire
has seated onto the rim, it is important the tire be initially
stretched to about 10 psi over cold starting pressure to get the tire
to its proper "profile". The tire should be set at this
pressure for a few minutes and then dropped to the desired race
pressure. Just be consistent in this procedure to get repeatable
results.
Those tires with directional arrows should be mounted
so that the tire travels in the direction of the arrow.
