NEWBERRYTOWN,
PA (February 1, 2005) -- Susquehanna Speedway Park is pleased to announce
Hoosier Racing Tire as its official tire for the 2005 racing season.
Hoosier-brand tires are the exclusive tire for the Sprint Cars, Super
Sportsman, Late Models and Street Stocks. "This is the first step of our
plan to reduce the cost of racing for all competitors," said SSP co-owner
Todd Fisher. "Throughout the season, we will work closely with Hoosier
Tire Mid-Atlantic and Miller's Racing Parts to determine a tire compound that
will help save money for our competitors who elect to race at Susquehanna
Speedway Park. It may take some time, but we are very committed to accomplishing
our goal of slowing the continuously sky-rocketing costs of competing in short
track racing."
Championship jackets from Hoosier Tires will be given the Champions of the
Sprint Cars, Street Stocks, Late Models and Super Sportsman divisions along
with other awards to be announced throughout the season.
The points season kicks off Thursday night, April 14 with the Sprint Cars,
Xtreme Stock Cars and Legends Cars. The Super Sportsman and Street Stocks kick
off their season on Sunday night, May 29. Gates will open for both the pit area
and grandstand gates at 5:00 p.m. in 2005. Warmups begin at 6:30 p.m. with
racing action beginning at 7:30 p.m. Race fans can continue to expect a fast
paced 2 ½ hour program each and every night. Grandstand ticket prices remain
the same as 2004. Weekly pit pass prices
are $20.00 with a reduced price of $18.00 for all pit competitor license
