LAKEVILLE,
IN -- David Tolbert reports to us that 14-year-old Tom Tolbert had an
extremely successful weekend earlier last month on the new Hoosier
Quarter Midget tires. On Saturday (September 18th), Tolbert set fast
time and won his heat race before capping off a stellar performance by
winning the feature race in the HVY 160 division at Mac-O-Chee Raceway
in West Liberty, OH. The next day at the Buckeye Quarter Midget track
in Columbus, OH, the youngster swept both the HVY 160 heat race and
the feature race to remain undefeated during, what will undoubtedly
be, an unforgettable weekend for the talented young hot-shoe. David
Tolbert credits Larry Ebert of Beechwold Automotive for convincing
them to give the Hoosiers a try. David stated that after they bolted
on a set of the new Hoosiers, Tom came into the pits exclaiming,
"Wow these tires are fast and I can go anywhere on the track I
want!"
Development work continues on the new Hoosier Quarter
Midget tire line with kart tire development to follow.
