USAC NATIONAL MIDGET CAR SERIES
CEDAR RAPIDS, IA (May 16) -- Twenty cars were entered in qualifying at Hawkeye Downs Speedway and since the USAC National Midget Car Series competes exclusively on Hoosier tires a Hoosier-shod winner was a lock. USAC NATIONAL SPRINT CAR SERIES
CEDAR RAPIDS, IA (May 16) -- Twenty-two cars posted times in qualifying at Hawkeye Downs Speedway's paved 1/2-mile track and since the race was on pavement, the Hoosier brand was the only brand present.
