LAKEVILLE,
IN -- The USAC Series had a busy week this past week. First was
Friday's USAC National Sprint Car Series race at Gas City I-69
Speedway in which J.J. Yeley won as Team-Hoosier finished 1-2-3-4 in
the night's 30-lap feature. Unfortunately, the Indiana Ford Focus
Series feature race was rained out at Gas City that evening.
The win was Yeley's third of the season in the USAC
National Sprint Car Series. The series then traveled to Indiana's
Lawrenceburg Speedway on Saturday in which Yeley did it again, this
time, leading the final 16 laps of the 30-lap feature to capture his
third win in a row in the series and fourth overall in nine races
contested to date.
On Sunday however, Yeley's three-race win streak was
broken when he finished fifth in
the night's 30-lap feature at Lawrenceburg. Yeley continues to hold a commanding lead
in the USAC National Sprint Series with 633 points over Tracy Hines
with 552.
The USAC National Sprint Car Series will compete next
at Attica Raceway park in Attica, OH on June18th.
Also on Sunday as part of a Triple-Header attraction,
the USAC Midget Series was in action. The Midget Series competes
exclusively on Hoosier tires. When the 30-lap feature was over, J.J.
Yeley had captured yet another win leading the final eight laps for
the win. Yeley continues to lead the USAC National Midget Series
standings with 463 points over Bobby East with 446 points. The USAC
National Midget Series will be competing next at Granite City, IL in
which Tony Stewart is slated to compete against the red hot J.J.
Yeley. Ironically, Yeley drives Tony Stewart owned cars in the USAC
Silvercrown Series and USAC Sprint Car Series. The race is scheduled
for June 4th.
The Indiana Ford Focus Series was also in action at
Lawrenceburg contesting a 20-lap feature in which Matt Westfall was
the winner. Westfall led 19 of the 20 race laps en route to the win.
Hoosier tires are the spec tire for the fledgling series.
J.J. Yeley continues to make history in the USAC
Series becoming the first driver to win ten races in the series this
early in the season. That's saying quite a bit considering this is the
same series where drivers like Jeff Gordon, Tony Stewart and Ryan
Newman developed their skills.
Hoosier Racing Tire is proud to provide tires to all
the competitors of the USAC Series.
