Dale McDowell after winning Sunday's $12,000-to-win feature at Atomic Motor SpeedwayOAK RIDGE, TN (March 13-14) -- The World of Outlaws Late Model Series was back in action over the weekend with two more races and two more first-time winners. The season-opening 'Hoosier 100' at Atomic Motor Speedway was the biggest in the track's 36-year history. On Saturday, Billy Moyer won the 40-lap race. Moyer, one of the famed 'Dirty Dozen' drivers, came from sixth place to take the win in the $5,000 feature race. The following night it was Dale McDowell capturing the 60-lap win leading every race lap en route to collecting the $12,000 top prize. The newly formed World of Outlaws Late Model Series is an open tire-rule venue just like the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series. Much like the Sprint Car Series, Hoosier is the dominant tire. The Hoosier brand has been the choice of all six race winners in the World of Outlaws Late Model Series and eight of nine winners in the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series.

SATURDAY
OAK RIDGE, TN (March 13) -- A huge 54-car field filled the pits for the $5,000-to-win opener at the 1/3-mile high-banked clay oval. Moyer was followed by Scott Bloomquist at 12.805 seconds. Local driver and former Atomic track champion Billy Ogle, Jr. was third fastest at 12.867 seconds.

Heat race winners included: Billy Moyer, Billy Ogle, Jr., Dale McDowell, Rick Eckert and Steve Francis. Dash winners included Dale McDowell and Mike Balzano.

In the 40-lap feature, sixth starting Billy Moyer took the lead with six laps remaining to take the win over Scott Bloomquist, Mike Balzano, Rick Eckert and Steve Francis giving the 'Dirty Dozen' drivers a sweep of the top five spots in the night's exciting feature race. Moyer won the race using Hoosier's newly designed 29.0/11.0-15 *D55* dirt tire on three of the four tire positions and the new 28.5/11.0-15 *D55* tire on his left rear position.

Billy Ogle, Jr. finished in sixth place and was the top finishing local driver.
