 BARBERVILLE,
FL (Dec. 27, 2006 -Jan. 1, 2007) -- Santa wasn't the only one spreading
holiday cheer last month. Hoosier Racing Tire's new Dirt Oval Kart tires were
also busy over the holidays bringing smiles to several driver's faces at the
2nd annual Volusia Winternationals held at Volusia Speedway Park.
On
the opening day of competition, Jason Moates took the win using Hoosier's new
D40A compound in the Senior Champ class. This was Jason's first time racing at
Volusia's new dirt kart facility and his first time on Hoosiers. The Laurens,
SC native started in 3rd and immediately charged his way towards the front with
confidence. While Jason's kart was the only one in the class on Hoosiers, he
set the quickest lap for the Sr. Champ class with a time of 13.29 seconds.
Jason, who was also the 2001 National champion, has collected over 100 career
wins. The veteran said the new Hoosier D40A tires were very impressive. His

Jason's
wasn't the only Hoosier-shod kart to walk away with a victory.
Kevin
Rusnak, from Deland, FL, took the checkered flag in the Animal Heavy class
feature at the Volusia Winternationals. After contemplating which tires to race
on for the feature, Kevin chose to use a pair of Hoosier's new RD30 compound
tires. The choice proved to be a wise one.
Kevin
started in second and immediately took the lead by a considerable margin. A
caution came out with about 10 laps to go. When the race restarted, Kevin
momentarily lost the lead. However, he quickly regained the top spot and went
on to claim the win. Kevin's quickest lap of the week was on Hoosiers when he
posted a 12.69-second lap.
