IN (November 1, 2006) -- When Donny Schatz crossed the finish line first in
Saturday's World of Outlaws Sprint Series finale in Las Vegas, he did so while
riding on Hoosier tires. Schatz not only won the last race of the season, he
also wrapped up his first-ever World of Outlaws Sprint Series championship. The
race also capped an unbelievable season for Team-Hoosier. For the first time in
the 49-year history of Hoosier Racing Tire, the purple tire brand went
undefeated for the season compiling a phenomenal 69-0 record in 2006. It was
also the seventh consecutive World of Outlaws Sprint Series title won by
a driver riding on Hoosier tires.
Schatz collected $200,000 at Sunday's awards banquet for winning the
championship. The 29-year-old Schatz from Minot, ND won 19 races during the
year collecting an additional $372,415 in earnings.
Craig Dollansky finished in second place in the driver standings. Dollansky
collected $100,000 for the runner-up finish in addition to $243,810 he earned
throughout the season.
Joey Saldana beat out Daryn Pittman for third pocketing a $70,000 check at the
awards banquet. In addition to the $70,000 payout, Saldana also collected
$259,290 in earnings throughout the season. Hoosier Racing Tire Corp.

giving Team-Hoosier its seventh consecutive series title. Hoosier Racing
Tire Corp. would also like to thank Dave Campbell for his stellar customer
service throughout the 69-race season. Dave attended 68 of the 69
races this year missing only the season-ending race to participate in the
wedding of a close friend in Indiana. Never one to be away from the action,
Dave flew back to Las Vegas the following morning to attend Sunday's
banquet. Hoosier Open Wheel Dirt Product Manager Neil Cowman
was also in Las Vegas attending the final two nights of action. The entire Hoosier organization
