NC (October 5,6) -- Defending Pennzoil World of Outlaws champion,
Steve Kinser, captured the 30-lap A-feature at Lowe's Motor Speedway
Saturday and collected the $20,000 winner's paycheck. Kinser, a Team
Hoosier member since 2000, placed himself in position for the victory
by posting a runner-up finish in the opener on Friday night gaining
him an outside pole start in the finale's Channellock Dash. "The
King" proceeded to win the 8-lap Dash placing him on the pole for
the night's main event. Kinser, on a Hoosier D12/D15 set up led all 30
laps en route to his 450th career victory.
PRELIMINARY NIGHT: Friday

The opening night of competition had 43 of the finest sprint car
racers in the world on hand for qualifying, as 31 of those competitors
elected to ride on USA-made Hoosier tires. The remaining 12 drivers
were split among the two other competing tire manufacturers. The
trust in the Hoosier brand paid off as the four fastest times were by
Team Hoosier members. James Chesson set fast time of the night around
the 4/10-mile oval after clocking a circuit in 12.079 seconds. Second
fastest was James' brother, P.J. Chesson, followed by Craig Dollansky
and Paul McMahan to complete the top four sweep in qualifying for Team
Hoosier. The four preliminary O'Reilly heat races resulted in three
Hoosier-shod drivers capturing an 8-lap win. Steve Kinser won the
opening heat, while Shane Stewart and Mark Kinser won heats three and
four. The Channellock Dash had seven of the ten starters on the
Hoosier brand, as Shane Stewart captured the win. Steve Kinser, Mark
Kinser, Paul McMahan, James Chesson, and Craig Dollansky finished
third through seventh, with P.J.Chesson rounding out the list of
Hoosier-clad finishers in tenth. In the
preliminary feature, Team Hoosier placed fully eight drivers on the
list of top ten finishers. Steve Kinser was Hoosier's top finisher as
he took runner-up honors. Shane Stewart captured fourth place followed
by Paul MaMahan in fifth. Andy Hillenburg finished a strong sixth
place after starting back in 19th, as Craig Dollansky, Joey Saldana,
Danny Lasoski and Brad Furr rounded out the list of Hoosier top ten
finishers in seventh through tenth respectively. FINALE NIGHT: Saturday

There were 37 cars in qualifying for the 30-lap finale race, as 27
qualifiers were using the Hoosier brand, fully 29 counting Steve
Kinser and Shane Stewart who by virtue of their top four finish earned
an automatic spot in the first two rows of the Channellock Dash. James
Chesson was the fastest Hoosier-shod qualifier at 11.883 seconds, just
.003 seconds from the track record. After winning three of the four
O'Reilly heat races on the opening night, Team Hoosier improved it's
record to 100% taking all four checkered flags on the final night of
racing, as Paul McMahan, Mark Kinser, Mike Goodman and Brad Furr each
captured their respective heats. The Channellock Dash which would
set the first five rows in the night's main event was won by Steve
Kinser in the Quaker State #11. In the B-feature race, (sometimes
referred to as the "last-chance" race for drivers not
finishing in the top four in their respective heats) the top four
finishers would transfer into the main event. Andy Hillenburg won the
B-feature followed by fellow Team Hoosier drivers, Greg Hodnett, Danny
Wood and Terry McCarl. In the A-feature, Steve Kinser, on his
Hoosier D12/D15 combination wasted no time jumping out to the early
lead from his pole position. While Kinser was pacing the field, the
real action was Mark Kinser, Danny Wood and Andy Hillenburg charging
up through the field. At the finish, Steve Kinser took the win and
collected the huge $20,000 payout. The win was Steve's fifth A-main
win of the season. Mark Kinser was the next Hoosier-shod
finisher as he captured fourth, after starting clear back in 18th.
Mark Kinser was on the new Hoosier RD12 compound. Shane Stewart took
sixth with Craig Dollansky capturing seventh. Danny Wood improved his
starting position 15 spots as he took eighth after starting 23rd. Andy
Hillenburg also spent the 30-lap race charging through the field as he
finsihed ninth after starting 21st. Joey Saldana finished tenth and
completed the list of seven Team Hoosier drivers in the finale's list
of top ten finishers. With the long Pennzoil World of Outlaws season
entering it's final month of competition, Hoosier-shod driver's
maintain command of the top three positions in the point standings,
with Mark Kinser (9133), Danny Lasoski (9070), and Steve Kinser
(8858), holding first through third for Team Hoosier. The next
Outlaws race is this Saturday October 13, at Baytown, Texas where Team
Hoosier captured both wins earlier this year when Steve Kinser won the
preliminary night and Mark Kinser captured the
