LAKEVILLE,
IN -- The World of Outlaws Series began their 2004 campaign racing in
Australia for the first time in series history. And while the
location was different, one thing remained the same--all three night's
race winners used Hoosier tires. Australia's Kerry Madsen won both
preliminary features followed by a bevy of Hoosier-shod Americans
while teams from the United States got their revenge on the final
night when Steve Kinser won followed by Sammy Swindell and Joey
Saldana. In fact, teams from the U.S. swept nine of the top ten spots in the
$20,000-to-win feature race at Parramatta City Raceway with all ten
competing on USA-made Hoosier tires.
Hoosier Racing Tire Corp. is looking for another
strong season in sprint racing's premier series after last
season's best-ever mark of 88-4 in the World of Outlaws Series. In
2003, when Steve Kinser captured his 18th series title the Hoosier
brand claimed its fourth consecutive series championship. This season
began with Team-Hoosier finishing 1-2-3 in the first three races in
Australia which bodes well for
a possible fifth consecutive series title by a Hoosier-shod driver.
Team-Hoosier captured its first-ever World of Outlaws
Series championship in 2000, when Steve Kinser switched to the Hoosier
brand at the beginning of the season. The following year, more drivers
switched over to Hoosier and posted a then-best 63-win season with
Danny Lasoski capturing the series crown on Hoosiers. The 63-36 record
posted in 2001 was smashed the following season when Team-Hoosier
amassed a phenomenal 90-6 record in the series with Steve Kinser
capturing his 17th series crown. As difficult as it was to
improve on a 94% winning percentage, that's exactly what Team-Hoosier
did in 2003. Hoosier-shod teams posted a sparkling 88-4 mark for a 96% win percentage
during
the season as Steve Kinser captured his 18th World of Outlaws championship.
World of Outlaws Series competition in the States will
begin on February 20th, at Manzanita Speedway in Arizona with a 2-day
program scheduled. During the 90+ race season, feel free to view the
