HAGERSTOWN,
MD (May19) -- Mark Kinser broke into the winner's circle Monday night
in the O'Reilly World of Outlaws Series. Kinser led all 30 laps in the
night's feature race at Hagerstown Speedway which was rescheduled from
Saturday night due to rain. Kinser was followed to the finish line by
Greg Hodnett and Donny Schatz giving Team-Hoosier its 18th consecutive
1-2-3 finish in the series. The Hoosier brand continues its winning
ways after finishing an amazing 90-6 last season. In the 27 races
contested to date this season, the Hoosier brand has won 25 of them
and swept the podium a total of 20 times.
Thirty-three cars were entered in qualifying with 27
cars equipped with Hoosier tires and the remaining six drivers using
one of the two other competing tire brands. Team-Hoosier claimed the
top six times in qualifying with Steve Kinser claiming the fastest
time of the night. Kinser circled the 1/2-mile track in 16.607
seconds. Kinser was closely followed by Daryn Pittman who recorded a
16.727 second lap. The two were followed by Lance Dewease, Greg
Hodnett, Donny Schatz and Mark Kinser as the six fastest qualifiers.
In heat race action, Joey Saldana, Sammy Swindell and
Danny Lasoski were the winners using Hoosier tires.
In the Dash races, the Hoosier brand settled for one
win when Mark Kinser captured the second Dash race.
In the feature, 21 of the 24 starters rode on
Hoosiers. Mark Kinser, starting on the outside pole, took command of
the race from the outset. Kinser, using a pair of Hoosier D12's (LR/RR),
led all 30 laps en route to his first win of the season. Greg Hodnett
finished in second place also on a pair of D12's. Donny Schatz rounded
out the top three taking home the final podium spot. Schatz opted to
run the 30-lap race using a Hoosier RD12/RD15 combination.
All totaled, the Hoosier brand was on the first ten
drivers to cross the finish line and 16 of the first 17 to cross the
stripe. Rounding out the top ten were Daryn Pittman, Lance Dewease,
Danny Lasoski, Steve Kinser, Joey Saldana, Chad Layton and Paul
McMahan.
It was the 18th consecutive 1-2-3 finish for Hoosier
tires as the series is back in action tonight at Pennsylvania's
Lernerville Speedway.
