ELBRIDGE,
NY (May 28) -- Steve Kinser continues to narrow the distance between
himself and current World of Outlaws Series points leader Danny
Lasoski after winning Wednesday night's 25-lap feature at Rolling
Wheels Raceway. Kinser was followed to the finish line by two more
Hoosier-shod chariots giving Team-Hoosier its 22nd consecutive 1-2-3
finish in the series. Donny Schatz finished in second place followed
by Jason Johnson. If the Hoosier brand can win the next two races on
the series schedule it will be undefeated for two consecutive months
in the series.
Thirty-five cars were entered in qualifying with 26 of
them on Hoosier tires and the remaining nine drivers split among the
other two competing tire brands. For the second consecutive night
Danny Lasoski set fast time of the event when he circled the 5/8-mile
track in 17.551 seconds. Lasoski was followed by Daryn Pittman, Jason
Meyers, Joey Saldana, Steve Kinser, Jason Johnson and Paul McMahan
giving the Hoosier brand the top seven times in qualifying.
All three 8-lap heat races were captured by drivers
using Hoosier tires. Brian Carlson, Steve Kinser and Craig Keel were
the three heat race winners.
Paul McMahan was the sole Dash winner on Hoosier tires
and earned the right to start the night's feature race on the pole by
virtue of winning the first of two Dash races contested.
In the 25-lap feature, another podium sweep for
Team-Hoosier was in doubt with the front row being comprised of just
one Hoosier-shod car, that of Paul McMahan. But the longer distance
proved again to be in favor of the Hoosier brand. McMahan took the
lead from the outset using a pair of D12 rear drive tires. McMahan
maintained the race lead until lap 11, when third starting Steve
Kinser, also on a pair of D12's, made the inside pass around the #11H
driver. Kinser extended his lead going on to win by approximately a
straightaway over Donny Schatz (RD12/D12), Jason Johnson (RD12/RD12),
Danny Lasoski (D10/RD12), Paul McMahan (D12/D12), Joey Saldana, Daryn
Pittman, Billy Pauch, Jason Meyers and Craig Keel as Team-Hoosier not
only notched its 22nd straight 1-2-3 finish, it also swept the top 15
positions in the night's final race.
Jason Sides finished 11th, while Curt Michael, Ryan
Coniam, Jeremy Campbell and Lance Yonge rounded out the list of top 15
finishers.
The World of Outlaws Series resumes competition this
Friday, May 30, at Sharon Speedway in Hartford, OH.
