LAWRENCEBURG,
IN (May 6) -- Paul McMahan won the 30-lap feature at Lawrenceburg
Speedway on Tuesday night breaking Danny Lasoski's four-race win
streak in the O'Reilly World of Outlaws Series. McMahan only recently
took over the #11h ride and has already burst into the winner's circle
as a result. The race also ended in another 1-2-3 finish for the
Hoosier brand. It was the 14th consecutive podium sweep and 16th
overall for Team-Hoosier in 23 nights of racing. The Hoosier brand has
now won 21 of the 23 races this season for a win percentage eclipsing
90%. Steve Kinser finished runner-up, while Tim Shaffer took home the
final podium spot for Team-Hoosier.
A huge 42-car contingent was on hand trying to make
the 24-car field. Thirty-eight of the 42 hopefuls rode on Hoosier
tires. Craig Dollansky set fast time of the night, while Team-Hoosier
posted the six fastest times in qualifying. Dollansky's time was a
scant 10.175 seconds around the 1/4-mile track. Rookie Jason Sides was
second followed by Danny Smith, Danny Lasoski, Dale Blaney and Paul
McMahan.
It took four 10-lap preliminary heat races to begin
whittling the 42-car field for the night's feature race. All four
heats were won by the Hoosier-shod cars of Kenny Jacobs, Jason
Johnson, Mark Kinser and Tim Shaffer.
Both Dash races were also won by cars on Hoosiers.
Paul McMahan won the first Dash, while Rob Chaney won the final Dash.
In the feature in which 20 of the 24 starters rode on
Hoosier tires, Rob Chaney led the first two laps from the pole before
giving way to Paul McMahan. McMahan led the remainder of the way to
take the win. McMahan opted to run the 30-lapper using a Hoosier
RD12/D12 (left rear/right rear) combination. Following McMahan to the
finish line was defending series champion Steve Kinser on a pair of
RD12's. Tim Shaffer (D10/RD12) took home third place to give
Team-Hoosier its 14th consecutive podium sweep.
Rob Chaney and Dale Blaney finished fourth and fifth,
respectively, on Hoosiers. Other top ten finishers on the Hoosier
brand were Craig Dollansky sixth, Jason Johnson ninth and Dean Jacobs
in tenth. All told, Hoosier-shod cars captured 15 of the top 17 spots
in the feature.
The World of Outlaws Series will take a day off before
resuming action on Thursday for a one-night show at Farmer City
Raceway in Illinois.
