IN (June 23) -- The O'Reilly World of Outlaws Series is in full swing
having completed their 40th night of racing which included three
consecutive nights of racing with another race scheduled for tonight.
Steve Kinser won Friday night at Joplin Speedway, while Daryn Pittman
won at Lakeside Speedway on Saturday and Paul McMahan was the winner
at Tri-City Speedway on Sunday. All three races ended in a 1-2-3
finish for Team-Hoosier. Last season in compiling a spectacular 90-6
record in the series, the Hoosier brand's longest 1-2-3 streak was
eleven races. To date, the Hoosier brand has won 38 nights and
compiled an amazing streak of 31
straight 1-2-3 finishes in sprint racing's premier series. The
series has not had another tire brand in the winner's circle since
March.
JOPLIN, MO (June 20) -- Thirty-four cars were
entered in qualifying at Joplin 66 Speedway on Friday with 28 cars
riding on Hoosier tires. Danny Lasoski set fast time of the night with
his lap of 13.959 seconds around the 3/8-mile Joplin 66 Speedway.
Jason Meyers was second followed by Steve Kinser and Joey Saldana
giving Team-Hoosier claim to the four fastest times in
qualifying.
Three of four heat races were won by drivers using the
Hoosier brand. Shane Stewart won the first heat, while Steve Kinser
and Sammy Swindell won the third and fourth heats.
In Dash competition, Daryn Pittman and Paul McMahan
were the two winners. Both drivers also ride on Hoosier tires.
In the 30-lap feature, Daryn Pittman took the early
race lead with Steve Kinser not far behind. Pittman's lead lasted until
the 11th lap when he was passed by 17-time series champion Steve
Kinser. Kinser led the remainder of the distance to capture his 11th
A-main win of the season and 14th win overall. Kinser collected
$10,000 for the win. Daryn Pittman settled for second place followed
by Danny Lasoski in third. The top three all used the same left
rear/right rear tire compound combination for the 30-lap event-- a
pair of Hoosier D12's.
The final tally had Team-Hoosier claiming the first 11
spots in the night's feature race. Paul McMahan, Jason Sides, Donny
Schatz, Tyler Walker, Sammy Swindell, Mark Kinser, Joey Saldana, and
Jason Meyers rounded out fourth through eleventh, respectively, for
the purple tire brand.
KANSAS CITY, KS (June 21) -- Thirty-seven cars
were on hand Saturday night at Lakeside Speedway with 31 of the
entrants riding on Hoosier tires. The nine fastest times in qualifying
were by drivers using the Hoosier brand. Tyler Walker set fast time of
the night with a lap of 14.787 seconds around the 1/2-mile track. Walker
was followed by Danny Lasoski, Daryn Pittman, Steve Kinser, Joey
Saldana, Jason Meyers, Kraig Kinser, Donny Schatz and Sammy Swindell.
All four preliminary 8-lap heat races were won by
drivers using Hoosiers. Donny Schatz, Danny Lasoski, Nick Smith and
Tom Busch were the four heat race winners.
Both Dash winners were also members of Team-Hoosier.
Daryn Pittman won the first Dash, while Donny Schatz won the final
Dash race.
In the feature, Daryn Pittman led all 30 laps en route
to the $10,000 win. It was Pittman's first feature win of the season.
Jason Meyers finished in second place followed by Donny Schatz in
third. All three podium finishers opted to run the race using the same
D12/D15 (LR/RR) compound combination. The Hoosier brand was used by
the first ten drivers to cross the finish line. Steve Kinser, Sammy
Swindell, Danny Lasoski, Joey Saldana, Kraig Kinser, Shane Stewart and
Paul McMahan finished fourth through tenth, respectively.
The 1-2-3 finish was the 30th consecutive podium sweep
for the Hoosier brand in the World of Outlaws Series. In previous
seasons, the Hoosier brand's best mark was 11 in a row last season
when Team-Hoosier posted an amazing 90-6 record in the the series.
GRANITE CITY, IL (June 22) -- Twenty-eight cars
posted times in qualifying at Tri-City Speedway on Sunday night with
23 of the qualifiers using Hoosier tires. Danny Lasoski set fast time
with his lap of 16.777 seconds around the 1/2-mile track. Lasoski was
followed by Steve Kinser (16.854 seconds), Kraig Kinser (16.890
seconds) and Shane Stewart (16.946 seconds). The four Hoosier-shod
drivers were the only one's to break the 16-second barrier in
qualifying.
Jason Sides and Donny Schatz were the two heat race
winners on Hoosiers. Sides won the first heat, while Schatz won the
third and final heat.
In Dash competition, Paul McMahan won the first Dash,
while Steve Kinser was the top finishing Hoosier-shod driver in the
final Dash. Kinser finished third in the second 5-lap Dash.
In the 30-lap feature, a non-Hoosier-shod driver led
the first 12 circuits before being reeled in by Paul McMahan and his
Hoosier D12/D15 tire combination. The young driver made the pass and
defended the top position until the checkered flag dropped on lap 30.
It was McMahan's second A-main win of the season.
Despite only comprising 50% of the front row for the
feature race, Team-Hoosier still captured the top six positions and
ten of the first eleven in the final race of the night. Joey Saldana
(RD15/D15) finished in second, followed by Donny Schatz (D12/D15),
Steve Kinser (D12/D15), Danny Lasoski (D12/D12) and Kraig Kinser in
third through sixth. Sammy Swindell, Jason Sides, Daryn Pittman and
Jason Johnson finished eighth through eleventh, respectively.
Danny Lasoski (4861) continues to lead the Outlaws
standings by 45 points over Steve Kinser (4816). Joey Saldana (4521)
is in third place followed by Daryn Pittman (4491), Donny Schatz
(4239), Jason Sides (4184) and Mark Kinser (3775) as the top seven
drivers in the Outlaws standings ride on USA-made Hoosier tires.
The World of Outlaws Series resumes action Monday
night, June 22, at Farmer City Raceway in Farmer City, IL. Hoosier
Open Wheel Dirt Product Manager Neil Cowman and Hoosier Engineer John
Reynolds will also be attending the race as Team-Hoosier aims for its
39th win in 41 nights of racing and its 32nd consecutive podium sweep
in the 2003 season.
