SEDALIA,
MO (June 26) -- Danny Lasoski returned to his home state of Missouri
to capture his second consecutive A-main victory after leading every
lap in the 25-lap feature Wednesday night at Sedalia's State Fair
Motor Speedway. Lasoski continues to make up ground in the standings
after losing the Pennzoil World of Outlaws point lead to 16-time
champion Steve Kinser after the Eagle Nationals last weekend. Not
surprisingly, Kinser finished runner-up at Sedalia. Despite the bobble
by Lasoski in the Nationals, the two drivers continue to run strong
with the two having won 11 of the last 13 races (Lasoski - 6 wins,
Kinser - 5 wins).
A total of 24 cars posted times in qualifying--21 of
them on Hoosiers with the remaining three drivers split among the
other two competing tire manufacturers. The top six times were posted
by drivers using the Hoosier brand. Danny Wood set fast time after
circling the 1/2-mile track in a scant 16.373 seconds. Steve Kinser,
Kraig Kinser, Joey Saldana, Tim Shaffer and Danny Lasoski were second
through sixth in qualifying.
All three preliminary heat races were won by
Team-Hoosier members. Daryn Pittman, Craig Dollansky and Donny Schatz
each captured a heat race win.
Danny Lasoski won the second dash race which earned
him the right to start the feature on the inside of the front row.
In the 25-lap feature, Lasoski got the jump at the
drop of the green flag after moving to the high side of the track to
take the lead from the pole-sitter. Lasoski, using a Hoosier D12/D15
combination, led every lap en route to the win--his second victory in
three days. Finishing in second place was Steve Kinser followed by
Daryn Pittman in third for the podium sweep for Team-Hoosier. The top
three finishers each used the same compound combination for the 25-lap
race.
Other top ten finishers on the Hoosier brand were:
Craig Dollansky, fifth; Donny Schatz, sixth; Tim Shaffer, seventh;
Randy Hannagan, eighth; Mark Kinser, ninth; and Joey Saldana, tenth.
The Pennzoil World of Outlaws Series now travels to
Knoxville, IA for a 2-day show beginning this Friday. Ironically, the
last time the series visited Knoxville Raceway back in April, Steve
Kinser and Danny Lasoski finished 1-2.
Team-Hoosier's winning percentage in sprint racing's premier
series now eclipses the 90% mark after last night's 1-2-3 sweep and
currently 10 of the top 11 drivers in the point standings ride on the
Hoosier brand. Steve Kinser continues to lead in the standings by
eight points over Danny Lasoski.
