Mark Kinser won Friday's 1st preliminary feature, while Tim Shaffer won the following night. The weekend culminated with Daryn Pittman winning the $20,000 30-lap A-feature on Saturday. The three wins also extended Team-Hoosier's win streak in the series to an amazing 41 races in a row. Overall, the Hoosier brand has won 72 of 76 races in the series this season.

1ST PRELIMINARY NIGHT
CALISTOGA, CA (August 30) -- With 19 of the 22 drivers competing on Hoosier tires, Tim Shaffer was the fastest in the field setting fast time with his qualifying lap of 16.156 seconds around the 1/2-mile Calistoga Speedway oval. Brad Furr, Danny Lasoski and Joey Saldana were second through fourth in qualifying. All four compete on Hoosier tires.

All three heat races were won by Hoosier-shod drivers when Jason Meyers, Sammy Swindell and Craig Dollansky each won their respective 8-lap heat races.

Both 5-lap dash races were also won by drivers using the Hoosier brand. Daryn Pittman won the first dash, while Mark Kinser took the checkered flag in the second dash.

In the 25-lap preliminary feature, Mark Kinser took the lead at the green flag from his outside pole starting position and never looked back capturing the opening night win. The win was on a Hoosier RD12/D15 left rear/right rear combination and was worth $5,000 to the two-time series champion.

Steve Kinser finished runner-up using a D12/D15 set-up. The second place finish was worth $3,000 to the 16-time series champion.

Other top ten finishers on the Hoosier brand were Daryn Pittman, Craig Dollansky, Danny Lasoski, Brad Furr, Joey Saldana, Sammy Swindell and Randy Hannagan in fourth through tenth, respectively.

Both Pittman and Dollansky used a D12/RD15 combination in the 25-lap feature.

2ND PRELIMINARY NIGHT
CALISTOGA, CA (August 31) -- The second of three nights of racing had 20 of the 22 competitors opting to ride atop the Hoosier brand. The 11 fastest times posted in qualifying were recorded by drivers on Hoosiers.

In the feature, Mark Kinser burst into the lead at the drop of the green flag from his outside pole position. Kinser led the race's first nine laps before giving way to the series' 1999 Rookie of the Year Tim Shaffer on the tenth circuit. Shaffer, using a Hoosier D12/D15 combination led the remainder of the way capturing his first preliminary win of the season. Shaffer collected $5,000 for the win.

Other top ten finishers using Hoosier tires were Daryn Pittman (8th), Jason Meyers (9th), and Randy Hannagan (10th).

SUNDAY'S A-MAIN
CALISTOGA, CA (September 1) -- After two preliminary nights of competition, Team Hoosier looked to improve their 40 consecutive race win streak in the Pennzoil World of Outlaws Series. After the dust had settled, thanks to Daryn Pittman, Team-Hoosier's streak stood at 41 consecutive wins. The Hoosier brand has now gone nearly three consecutive months without suffering a loss in sprint racing's premier series.

The final night's qualifying was set not by taking laps, but by points earned from the previous two nights of competition. Mark Kinser was first in qualifying points earned with 1051 points followed by Danny Lasoski (1049) and Brad Furr (1038). As a result, the trio earned the first three spots in the single dash event contested on the final night of racing at Calistoga.

But prior to the dash, three heat races were completed with all three winners using Hoosier tires in capturing their 8-lap wins. Steve Kinser, Sammy Swindell and Daryn Pittman each won their respective heat for Team-Hoosier.

In the dash race, Mark Kinser took the 5-lap win placing the Mopar driver on the pole for the $20,000 finale.

In the 30-lap feature, Danny Lasoski took the early race lead from his outside pole starting position. Lasoski led the first 12 laps before giving way to young Brad Furr who led through lap 25, before Daryn Pittman moved into the lead. Pittman held on the final five laps to take the win and collect the $20,000 top prize. Pittman used a pair of Hoosier D15's in capturing the $20,000 win.

Other top ten finishers on Hoosiers were, Steve Kinser (D15/D15), Danny Lasoski (D15/D15), Tim Shaffer (D15/D15), Jason Meyers, Randy Hannagan, Mark Kinser and Brent Kaeding in third through ninth, respectively.

After three nights of racing, Team-Hoosier amassed some pretty impressive stats during the Labor Day weekend. The Hoosier brand set fast time all three nights, won eight of nine heat races, won all five dash events while winning all three night's feature races.

Sure the Oakland A's have put together a string of 19 consecutive wins, but how about 41! That's right, Team-Hoosier has now extended its current win streak in the series to 41 consecutive races dating back to June 6th. That was the last time Team-Hoosier failed to win in Pennzoil World of Outlaws competition. Ironically, that night they finished second and third.

Steve Kinser remains atop the series standings with 8227 points followed by Danny Lasoski with 7924 points as Joey Saldana, Craig Dollansky, Mark Kinser Tim Shaffer and Donny Schatz round out the top seven in the standings. All seven drivers compete on the Hoosier brand. Brad Furr is just one point from overtaking the eighth position which would give Team-Hoosier claim to the top eight positions in the series standings. Randy Hannagan sits solidly in tenth giving Hoosier nine of the top ten positions in the driver standings.

The series resumes racing tonight at Watsonville Speedway in California for a one-night program before moving on to Silver Dollar Speedway in Chico, CA for three nights of racing beginning this Thursday.
