CA (September 5) -- For the first time in the history of Hoosier Racing
Tire Corp. the entire field in a Pennzoil World of Outlaws Series race
rode on Hoosier tires. In yet another special night in Hoosier's dream
season in the sprint series, all 45 competitors opted to ride on the
Indiana-based tire brand. Steve Kinser led all 30 laps in the first of
two preliminary races at Silver Dollar Speedway before Saturday's
A-main in the Gold Cup Race of Champions. The victory now extends
Team-Hoosier's win streak to 43 races heading into tonight's second
preliminary. Overall, the Hoosier tire brand has won 74 of 78 races in
the Pennzoil World of Outlaws Series this season.
Tim Shaffer, in the Dennis Roth #83, set fast time of
the night with a lap of 12.146 seconds around the Silver Dollar
Speedway 1/4-mile oval. Kevin Pylant was second followed by Steve
Kinser third in qualifying.
Tim Shaffer, Sean Becker, Donny Schatz, and Jason
Meyers were the heat race winners.
Steve Kinser won the first dash, while Kevin Pylant
won the second dash. The wins placed the two on the front row for the
30-lap feature.
In the feature, Steve Kinser used a pair of RD12's in
taking the flag-to-flag win. Brad Furr continued his string of strong
performances finishing second on a D10/RD12 combination. Mark Kinser
took third using a RD12/RD15 set-up.
Rounding out the top ten were Tim Shaffer, Robbie
Farr, Jason Meyers, Donny Schatz, Danny Wood, Peter Murphy and Randy
Hannagan in fourth through tenth, respectively.
