EAGLE,
NE (September 17-18) -- Donny Schatz is HOT winning four races in a
row and five of the last
six World of Outlaws Series races he has competed in over the
past two weeks. His latest
conquest was the One-Third Mile Short Track Nationals at Eagle
Raceway. Schatz, from Fargo, ND, first captured the win in the preliminary
30-lap race over Jason Sides on Friday. The pair swapped the lead back
and forth twice in the race's first 11 laps before Schatz took command
of the race en route to the win. The Parker Store #15 driver collected
$5,000 for the opening night win. On Saturday, Schatz again took the lead
from Jason Sides on lap 16 on his way to the win in the 40-lap main event. The
#3-man in the point standings collected $12,000 for the A-main win.
Over the past two weeks, Schatz's earnings have totaled a hefty
$56,000. While Hoosier was not the only tire brand in the pits at the
event, it was the only brand in both feature races. It was the 71st
consecutive win in the series for the Hoosier brand. After last
season's company-best record of 88-4 in the series, Team Hoosier now
boasts a sparkling 71-1 mark in the World of Outlaws Sprint Car
Series.
