 WoO WINNERS
ONCE AGAIN!

9-21-2001

Mark Kinser equipped with USA-made Hoosier tires.GREENWOOD, NE (September 20) -- Pennzoil World of Outlaws racing resumed last night at Nebraska Raceway Park after an eleven day hiatus, as Mark Kinser returned once again to the winner's circle utilizing a pair of Hoosier D12 tires. Kinser dominated the 25-lap A-feature, winning the race by over 10 seconds over fellow Hoosier-shod driver, Andy Hillenburg. Kinser also extended his narrow points lead over fellow Team Hoosier member Danny Lasoski to 77 points.

A stout field of 45 sprinters was on hand at the 4/10-mile oval hoping to make it to the night's feature race, as 31 of them elected to trust the Hoosier brand. In preliminary qualifying, P.J. Chesson posted fast time of the evening after completing a lap in 13.807 seconds. All told, nine of the top ten qualifiers used Hoosier tires. Joining P.J. Chesson in the top ten were, Brad Furr, Mark Kinser, Craig Dollansky, Andy Hillenburg, Joey Saldana, Paul McMahan, Mike Goodman and Steve Kinser, third through tenth respectively.

Surprisingly, only one of the four preliminary 8-lap heat races were won by drivers on Hoosiers, that was Jason Johnson after he captured the night's first O'Reilly heat race.

Of the ten drivers competing in the 8-lap Channellock Dash, fully seven were on the Hoosier brand. After finishing second in the final heat race, Mark Kinser was the top Hoosier-clad finisher in the Dash when he took runner-up honors. The other Hoosier drivers competing in the Dash which determined the first five rows in the night's A-feature were Andy Hillenburg, Jason Johnson, Paul McMahan, Joey Saldana, Craig Dollansky and Brad Furr.

The 10-lap C-feature race was won by Derrick Beckman and the B-feature race winner was Daryn Pittman, giving Team Hoosier a sweep of the two "last chance" races.

The 24-car field was set for the 25-lap A-feature, with 17 of the competitors electing to trust the American-made Hoosier tire brand. It took Mark Kinser, using a pair of Hoosier D12's, only four circuits to capture the race lead. From there, Kinser ran away from the entire field, winning by 10 seconds over Andy Hillenburg who elected to go with a Hoosier D10/D12 combination. This was the 38th time of the season the night's final race ended in a 1-2 finish for Team Hoosier.

Other Team Hoosier drivers in the top ten were, Danny Lasoski in fifth, Joey Saldana in seventh and Craig Dollansky finishing in ninth. In addition to Kinser's performance, the effort of Danny Lasoski should not be overlooked. Lasoski charged all the way from his 20th starting position to capture a fifth place finish, advancing 15 positions in just 25 laps!

Team Hoosier continues to hold the top three slots in the Pennzoil World of Outlaws point standings. Mark Kinser is currently in first place with 8307 points followed by Danny Lasoski with 8230 points. Defending series champion, Steve Kinser, commands third place with 8103 points.

The second of three consecutive night's of racing resumes tonight.
