WATSONVILLE,
CA (September 3) -- Brad Furr posted his second Pennzoil World of
Outlaws A-main win of the season and third overall win at Watsonville
Speedway Tuesday night. Furr led all 30 laps en route to the $10,000
win while extending the Team-Hoosier win streak to 42 races in a row.
The series now heads to Chico, CA for three nights of racing which
make up the Gold Cup Race of Champions.
Thirty-three cars posted times in qualifying with 31
cars opting to trust the Hoosier brand. Tim Shaffer, fresh off his
Calistoga preliminary win, set fast time of the night with a lap of
12.025 seconds around the 1/2-mile track.
The large field required four heat races. All four
heats were won by drivers on the Hoosier brand. Craig Dollansky, Tommy
Tarlton, Kevin Pylant and Jason Statler won heats one through four,
respectively.
Both dash races were also won by Hoosier-shod drivers.
Brad Furr won the first dash and the pole position for the feature in
the process, while Craig Dollansky captured the win in the second
dash.
In the 30-lap feature, Brad Furr jumped out to the
early race lead and held on to capture his second A-main win and third
overall win of the season. Furr's last win came back in April in the
preliminary of the Southern Bleacher Classic at Texas Motor Speedway.
Furr used a pair of Hoosier RD12's to take the flag-to-flag win.
Other Hoosier-shod drivers finishing in the top ten
were Craig Dollansky in third on a RD12/D12 combination. Jason Meyers,
Danny Lasoski, and Tim Shaffer finished fourth through sixth,
respectively, while Tim Kaeding, Daryn Pittman, and Steve Kinser
rounded out positions eight through tenth.
Furr's win also propels him into the eighth spot in
the series standings with the top eight drivers in the standings
running on the Hoosier brand.
The Pennzoil World of Outlaws continue the grueling
schedule this Thursday for three consecutive nights of racing at
Silver Dollar Speedway in Chico, CA.
