LAKEVILLE,
IN (July 21) -- Hoosier Racing Tire Corp. received a huge vote of
confidence from Australia's Wade Aunger. The CEO of the World Series
Sprintcars Championship Series selected Hoosier as the spec tire for
the 2004 season. Hoosier was the tire used by the first, second and
third place drivers in the final standings this
past season when, for the first time in the series history, the
championship was won by an American--Daryn Pittman. Pittman returned
to the United States from his Australian triumph to compete in the
World of Outlaws Series where he is currently in fourth place behind
Danny Lasoski, Steve Kinser and Joey Saldana. All four drivers compete
using Hoosier racing tires.
The wonderful news came from Max Dumesny, Hoosier's
Australian Distributor who not only is the exclusive distributor of
Hoosier tires (via MD Imports), but also is a pretty good racer in his
own right having won the World Series Sprintcars Championship in 2002
as a driver. Dumesny also finished third this past season behind
Pittman and Robbie Farr.
Hoosier Open Wheel Dirt Product Manager Neil Cowman,
who was elated with the news, commented, "This is great news. We
are extremely pleased Wade (Aunger) and the World Series Sprintcars
have selected Hoosier as their tire of choice."
Cowman added, "Max has done a great job representing Hoosier in
Australia both as a Distributor and as a driver. We are lucky to have
him and his staff as a members of Team-Hoosier."
The World Series Sprintcars has a 15-race schedule,
(called Rounds) and races in November, December and January, which
affords race teams from the northern hemisphere to compete during
their off-season.
